Gender-based violence is a global issue, affecting all sectors of society regardless of socioeconomic status, race, ethnicity, religion or nationality. That means that no community is free from gender-based violence and from its responsibility to confront it. At the same time, it also means that all communities across the world have this tragic phenomenon in common making it also a universal problem.

Collecting Garments

The pillars of She’s Gone are the garments of the murdered women. A silent memory and an empty shell of a woman that is gone. In order to gather these garments, one needs to engage in an extremely sensitive process. Establishing contact with a victim's family, gaining their trust, making sure that their loved one's garments will be treated with the utmost respect, feeling the humbling privilege of being the one who is saying their name and telling their tale, so they won't be forgotten and will hopefully help to prevent the next tragedy yet to come. 

Our aim is to bring She’s gone to the UN in New York on the The International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women, and send out a loud call for action to policy makers worldwide. 

To show the vast extent of gender-based violence in our society, we would very much appreciate any help with collecting garments from family victims from your locality or with connecting us with people and organizations who would be able to help with the collection process themselves. 

Finding Venues

Showing the installation She’s Gone in your local community will help in raising awareness to gender-based violence , stir discussion and provoke action. We built the installation in a modular and flexible way, so it can fit different environments.  We would love to hear from you In case you are able to help in arranging a venue for the exhibition - please contact us.

Collaborations & Related Events

We are calling out to civil society organizations, academics, activists, artists and others who are working on gender-based violence issues to help us broaden the discourse of the project by offering collaborations and ideas for related events for a planned visit of the exhibition.

We would also appreciate any help connecting with museums, art galleries, conferences, film, art and gender festivals for potential collaboration and accommodating the exhibition.
