Delia Roxana Paiusi
Murdered on Wednesday, February 16, 2022
She was 32 years old
Delia was the mother of a 5-year-old girl. She loved to braid her long hair and play with makeup together. Delia had a passion for fashion and a collection of extremely colorful clothes in all the colors of the rainbow. She often adorned herself with makeup and knee-high boots.
Delia was a hardworking individual who took on various jobs, including picking potatoes in the village and traveling to Spain and Germany in search of employment. Despite being an introvert, Delia was known to stand up for herself, particularly in dealing with problematic men, as attested by her younger sister.
In 2021, she began a relationship with a man she met online who lived in the district where she resided. Shortly after, she moved in with him. He used to criticize the affection she showed towards her daughter and persistently demanded that she move to work with him across Europe. Delia was not ready to leave her family and her daughter.
Delia's daughter told how her mother's partner would beat her and lock her in a room, where she could hear her mother being attacked by him. One cold night in January, he threw them both out of the house. At this point, Delia asked to end the relationship and moved back in with her family. However, her partner continued to pursue her and came to the village twice to convince her to return to him. The day before her murder, he confronted her at a restaurant. A serious fight broke out between them, and the police were called but did nothing.
Delia's mother believes that the man threatened to harm their family, so her daughter isolated herself and didn’t tell anyone about the threats she received. The next evening, Delia told her mother and sister that she had received a strange message on the phone. Delia hurried out and said she was going to the street corner to meet a friend. Her daughter begged her not to go out, but Delia promised to return quickly with something delicious and sweet.
The message was from her ex-partner; he met her at the street corner and stabbed her brutally 10 times. He left the body behind, took the train back and 4 hours later turned himself in to the police.
The murderer was sentenced to 22 years in prison.
